Plastic parts over 25 grams (0.88 ounces) are marked according to international standards that enhance the ability to identify plastics for recycling purposes at the end of product life. We have kept the amount of plastic resins used to only four types: ABS, PC, POM and TPV. All of our small electronics are ROHS and WEEE compliant. Only one single type of tooling is required for disassembling the product: Torx No. 6 screwdriver.
Because of the limited amount of parts in our printer (less than 10% of the number found in ordinary desktop printers), only a limited amount of production tooling is required. The whole back-end assembly process can be done in one small single production line. We are able to make substantial energy savings at the factory level to fabricate the tooling, the mold-injected parts and during the final assembly process.
By definition, our printers weigh just a small fraction of what ordinary printers weigh and the volume of the shipping packaging is only 1.8% of the equivalent package required for regular desktop printers. These factors allow us to bulk ship to all major territories and help the environment.
